Sun Modular Data Centre MD 20

Sun Microsystems Innovators in raw compute power brought the Modular Data Centre (MD20) code named 'Project Black Box ' to the UK culminating in an event at the National Army Museum on the 22 May 2008. HealingBreeze in partnership with Avnet Technology Solutions hosted an event at the KK George Hotel in Earls Court to focus on Innovation with Sun Microsystems.

Invited guests from numerous sectors met to see presentations form HealingBreeze, Sun, ScanITT, Jacarta and Avnet all demonstrating innovative technology for greener, leaner, cleaner computing.

The highlight of the day was a presentation by Jay huff Senior Marketing Director, UK & Ireland for Sun Microsystems. As Senior Marketing Director for Sun Microsystems UK and Ireland, Jay is responsible for the perception and positioning of the Sun brand within the UK and Ireland, and driving business growth through identification of market trends, opportunities and customer needs. Kevin Fox From Jacarta focused on the need for managed environmental monitoring, demonstrating the ease of use of Jacartas products and reinforcing the point that if you can not monitor the server environment it cannot be properly managed. With an increased focus on lowering carbon footprints and accounting for energy waste. Managed environments are moving up the agenda priority for IT management.

HealingBreeze outlined the potential of ScanITT Technology that allows for agent less network wide discovery, audit, asset management and granular control of systems through  dynamic CMDB management. The focus for the future is the increased demand for central control of IT management and documentation for asset management and compliance and there are few products available that are able to be deployed quickly and cost effectively offering simple management for IT managers, asset managers and Security departments.

ScanITT technology promises rapid deployment, and the ability to adapt quickly to customer environment requirements and market demands wh the ability to conect at runtime to any ODBC compliant server. ScanITT reccomends easy and cost effective deployment with the Sun MySQL database, with its great performance and low entry cost.
